Job Overview

NICL has released a recruitment drive for 266 Administrative Officer (Scale I) posts.
These include:

• 170 Generalist roles
• 96 Specialist roles (Doctors, Legal, Finance, IT, Automobile), including a few backlog positions

This is a Group‑A, entry-level officer cadre role in a PSU – Government Insurance sector. Mode of application is fully online.

NICL AO Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen or eligible under Government norms.
• Qualification:
  • Generalist: Graduate or Postgraduate in any discipline with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).
  • Specialist: Specific degrees as per stream:
    • MBBS/MD/MS with medical registration
    • LL.B/LL.M for Law stream
    • CA/ICWA or B.Com/M.Com for Finance
    • B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech for IT or Automobile
• Age Limit (as on 01 May 2025): 21 to 30 years (born between 02 May 1995 – 01 May 2004)
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST: +5 years
  • OBC (non‑creamy): +3 years
  • PwBD: +10 years
  • Ex‑Servicemen/Defense disabled: +5/+3 years
  • Widows/divorced (not remarried): +9 years
  • Confirmed PSU insurance employees: +8 years
    Maximum cumulative age relaxation up to 45 years
• Experience: Not required; freshers are eligible.
• Other Requirements: Relevant specialty registrations (e.g., medical registration)

Salary

• Basic Pay: ₹50,925 in the scale ₹50,925–2,500(14)–85,925–2,710(4)–96,765
• Estimated Emoluments: Approximately ₹90,000/month (in metro cities), inclusive of DA, HRA, and other allowances
• Specialist Doctors: Eligible for Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) of 25% of basic pay
• Perquisites: Pension (as per PFRDA), gratuity, medical coverage, leased accommodation, etc.

Selection Process

• Preliminary Exam (Objective – 100 marks)
• Mains Exam (Objective + Descriptive – 280 marks)
• Interview

Final merit list will be prepared based on Mains and Interview scores.
